The Story Behind the Song
It’s so easy to get caught up in the noise of everyday life and lose sight of what we’re ultimately living for. This song is a call to lift our eyes, surrender again, and live with expectancy—not fear, but hope.
We don’t know the day or the hour, but we know the promise. So while we wait, may we be found worshiping, seeking Him, and living ready. Sometimes fear and shame make us hide from the very One who offers us peace. “Chasing After” is a reminder that we can bring God our questions, our struggles, and the things we don’t know how to say. We don’t have to have it all together to turn toward Him.
“Chasing After” is a song I wrote when I was in my 20’s—an honest prayer about feeling alone, wrestling with fear and shame, and learning to stop running from God. It moves from questioning His presence to remembering His faithfulness: even when we pull away, He hasn’t changed.
